TRIPLE MINORITY AND TRIPLE THREAT

My name is Jason Alvarez, a performer trained in theatre, film, and dance from Jacksonville, FL (DUUVVAAALLL!!!!). I strive to dive more into Black, Latino, and queer stories. One thing about me is that I have resilience. After facing rejection from my hometown’s performing arts middle school, high school, and my dream college program, I would stop at nothing to get the education I needed to be the artist I am today.

I recently graduated from Florida State University with Summa Cum Laude for my BA in Theatre. I also studied abroad for a semester with Theatre Academy London, where I exponentially developed my artistry. I was blessed enough to gain experience from mainstage productions, student and professional film sets, dance theatre shows, and even competitions like World of Dance (GO CAP STATE!!).

When I’m not on stage or in front of the camera, I’m either working out while listening to Beyoncé’s Renaissance, choreographing dances in my head, doing work at my local kava bar, making use of my AMC A-Lister membership, or trying to catch up with all the sitcoms and animes I have on my watch list.

As a triple threat and triple minority, I would love to tell stories that help marginalized communities feel truly seen and heard while providing an escape from the harsh realities of the world.
